Mud and Mirror work, an art form found in the region of Kutch, is one of the lesser known art forms in a land which boasts of a variety of handicrafts. Lippan Kaam is the plastering of a mixture of mud and dung done on the walls and floors of the traditional mud houses (bhungas), while Chittar Kaam is the mud relief work that adorns the interiors of these homes. The present report revolves around understanding and documenting the practise and evolution of Lippan and Chittar Kaam across the communities that practise it.
