Description
This report tries to unearth various factors that affect the art form Tholpavakoothu. Tholpavakoothu is a form of shadow puppetry from Kerala that is performed to appease the Goddess Bhadrakali. Our primary focus through the course of the research was to understand the details of the art form with respect to the thematic aspects, creation process and evolution, and therefore understanding how the art form has adapted to the changing times.
